Help with scanning, compression, duplicates, the storage forecast, purchases, and anything the app reports that does not look right.

Free space did not change after compressing
Compressing writes a smaller copy and leaves the original in place, which is why the app says 'ready to free' rather than 'freed' until you remove originals. After deleting, iOS holds items in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days — empty that album in Photos to get the space back.
The number differs from iOS Settings
Settings counts system data and app caches that no third-party app may read or delete. Smart Cleaner only reports what it measured itself and can act on, which is why it never claims to clear junk files, caches, or memory.
An item is marked iCloud only
With Optimize iPhone Storage on, iOS keeps originals in iCloud and a small preview on the device. Those items already cost almost nothing locally, so the app separates them out instead of counting them toward space you would get back.
The forecast says it is still learning
The forecast fits a line to real capacity readings taken once a day. Under three days of readings there is nothing honest to project from, so it says so rather than inventing a number. It also declines when the rate of change is inside normal system churn.
Compressing a Live Photo dropped the motion
Converting a Live Photo to a still is one of the ways space is saved. On the manual Browse to Compress path the motion half is dropped and the sheet warns you first. Leave Live Photos out of that selection if you want to keep the movement.
Purchases and subscriptions
Restore Purchases lives in the app's Settings screen. Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.
